Centre back duo Paddy McNair and Semi Ajayi are set to be passed fit to play at the Kassam Stadium despite injury concerns.

Neither player featured for their countries in the final game of the international break, with McNair missing out as Northern Ireland faced Wales and Ajayi not featuring for Nigeria against Jordan.

30-year-old McNair was released by his national team after 2-0 defeat to Italy in their World Cup play-off semi-final in which Oxford stars Jamie Donley and Brodie Spencer both started.

Ajayi played 46 minutes for the Super Eagles as they lost 2-1 to Iran before not featuring in the 2-2 draw with Jordan.

Donley went on to start in the friendly against Wales alongside U’s centre back Ciaron Brown, with Spencer coming off the bench in that match.

There were slight concerns over the Hull pairing, but Hull Live understands that both players trained on Tuesday and will travel to face Matt Bloomfield’s side on Friday afternoon.

Good Friday’s game begins an intense seven-game run-in where Oxford will fight to retain their Championship status.

It is a quick turnaround after facing Hull, with an enormous clash away at Portsmouth lined up at lunchtime on Easter Monday.
