Family rally around emotional David Beckham after snub
Former Manchester United and England footballer Sir David Beckham and his Spice Girl wife, Lady Victoria Beckham, have lived in Oxfordshire for a decade.
The couple, who have a mansion in the Cotswolds, have been embroiled in a public family feud for some time now.
In January, this came to a head last month as their eldest son, Brooklyn, made explosive allegations in a lengthy Instagram post.

He claimed that his mother “hijacked” his first dance with his wife, Nicola Peltz, and danced “inappropriately on me” in front of their guests, adding that he had never felt more “uncomfortable or humiliated” in his life.
And he also alleged that his wife had been “disrespected” by his family and was not invited to his father’s 50th birthday party.
Now, Sir David has said he felt “very lucky and blessed” to be surrounded by love from family and friends on his birthday.

This was even though son Brooklyn did not publicly acknowledge the day as his father turned 51 on Saturday (May 2) and was inundated with social media tributes.
On Instagram, Sir Davbid uploaded a picture of himself blowing out candles alongside a similar childhood snap, and thanked his “beautiful family” for making a fuss of him.
“I feel very lucky & blessed to have had a very special day today being spoilt by my wife, kids, family and friends from the moment I opened my eyes till now, and I just want to say thank you, and I love you all so much,” he penned,
He added: “Victoria and my beautiful family, thank you.”

Oxfordshire town on edge of Cotswolds named among UK’s best
Witney, a historic market town on the River Windrush about 15 miles west of Oxford, grew rich on the medieval wool trade.
It later became famous for its blanket‑making industry, which continued into the 21st century.
The town has now earned a place in The Sun’s list of 11 top day‑trip destinations, with the newspaper highlighting its “beautiful buildings” and calmer feel compared to some of the Cotswolds’ busiest tourist honeypots in peak season.

In the feature, travel writer Kara Godfrey picked out family‑friendly things to do in and around the town.
She said: “Kids will love Cogges Manor Farm, where they can feed some of the animals, or you can practise your mug painting at The Pottery Place in town.”
For longer stays, she suggested the historic Blue Boar Inn in the centre for a “cosy” night away, or luxury country‑house hotel Estelle Manor near Eynsham for those willing to spend more.

Witney was listed alongside destinations such as Sheringham in Norfolk, Chester in Cheshire and Weston‑super‑Mare in North Somerset, as part of The Sun’s round‑up of quieter alternatives for UK days out.
