Oxfordshire police search for third man after ‘stabbing’
The alleged victim, in his 40s, remains in hospital in a stable condition having been found in Oxford Road at around 10pm on Sunday, April 19.
Meanwhile, the two men from Kidlington, aged 24 and 52, who were arrested on suspicion of assault have been released on conditional police bail until July 13.
Detectives set up a police cordon in Queens Avenue on Monday with forensic officers seen gathering evidence at a house.
At around 9pm on Sunday, the initial call came into the police alleging that a knife fight had broken out in Cherwell Avenue.
Officers have now turned their attention to tracing a man that may have ran from the scene, saying he was potentially involved with what happened with the police scene in Queens Avenue now removed.
The wanted man is described by the force as being either black or mixed race, around 6ft tall, of large build, with black cornrows or mini dreads, wearing black-rimmed glasses and a grey tracksuit and carrying a black rucksack.
In an update on Tuesday afternoon, Thames Valley Police said officers are keen to talk to anyone living in the area with CCTV or video doorbells.

They are also appealing for any drivers with dash-cams that were driving in the area between 8pm and 10.30pm on Sunday to check their footage for anything that could help with the investigation.
Investigating officer detective sergeant Mark Personius, of the Oxfordshire criminal investigations department, said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to this assault in Kidlington to please come forward.
“There is no risk to the wider public as we believe all those involved in the incident are known to each other.
“However, there will be an increased police presence in the town so please speak to a uniformed officer if you have any concerns.”
Kidlington East councillor Fiona Mawson said the incident is a “shocking and frightening” experience for people in the area and urged anybody with information to come forward.
The Green councillor added: “As someone who has lived in the area for 33 years, I know this is a highly unusual situation and there’s no reason to believe that the neighbourhood is at any increased risk.”
An anonymous resident of Cherwell Avenue said on Monday that police officers knocked on his window at around 12.30am on Monday, asking to look through camera footage from their ring doorbell.

The former Spice Girl rose to fame as Posh Spice before building a fashion and beauty label and settling with husband Sir David Beckham.
Having moved over to the area several years ago, the celebrity couple reside at a countryside estate near Great Tew in west Oxfordshire.
Lady Beckham has now described seeing her logo alongside Gap’s as a “pinch‑me moment”.

Gap announced the partnership in a statement confirming that the first Gap x Victoria Beckham collection will launch on Friday, April 24, on Gap.com and in selected stores worldwide.
This includes the UK, with prices starting at about £25 and running up to around £250.
The US brand said the multi‑season deal will see classic Gap pieces “reimagined” through Beckham’s design lens, focusing on denim, khaki, T‑shirts, shirts, button‑ups and fleece.
This collection includes black Capri jeans, a khaki parka, cropped denim jackets, shirts, tracksuits and what Beckham has called “the perfect white T‑shirt”, along with a new signature denim shape dubbed the Arc Jean.

In a press release, Lady Beckham said Gap had always stood for “timeless pieces for everybody’s wardrobe”.
She added: “Bringing my design perspective to those everyday essentials and working with a team that shares that same commitment to craftsmanship and execution has made this collaboration incredibly special.”
The pieces carry subtle branding, such as red VB stitching on some garments, with sizes for the main adult range running from XXS to XXL.
The two one-bedroom flats, which are at 33A and 33B Horspath Road, Cowley, will be acquired for a total of £540,000.
The purchase is part of the Retained Right to Buy Receipts programme for general needs social rent.
As of April 17, 2024, the cabinet made the decision to use Retained Right to Buy Receipts for the provision of additional affordable housing into the Housing Revenue Account.
Purchase of these houses allows Oxford City Council to respond to the immediate housing need.

There are stipulations attached to the Right to Buy scheme.
To be eligible, you must have been a tenant for at least three years.
This includes tenancy with Oxford City Council, other councils, housing associations, or armed forces accommodation.
Some council properties are not eligible for Right to Buy.
These include specialist housing for elderly or disabled people, properties linked to your job and properties with non-secure tenancy, such as introductory tenancies.
When purchasing a flat or a maisonette, buyers are generally given a lease, usually for 125 years.

In addition to paying for the mortgage, owners are also required to pay an annual service charge and contribute to the cost of major maintenance works.
While there are discounts available, the maximum is £16,000 and depends on factors such as total duration of tenancy with a public sector landlord, property type and home value.
The scheme was introduced in 1980 under Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher through the Housing Act 1980.
Emergency 999 services are dealing with an incident at the railway line as trains to and from Oxford are cancelled.
