Bounce Back 4 Kids (BB4K), delivered by Parents And Children Together (PACT), is now available in Oxfordshire for children aged three to 11 and their non-abusive parent or carer.

The programme offers a safe space for children to process their experiences, build emotional resilience and develop coping strategies through creative and therapeutic activities.

A parent who completed the course said: “Doing this Bounce Back course with my daughter is one of the best things I’ve done.

“I was unsure at first, as I didn’t want to admit it had affected my girls so much.

“But I am so happy I did it as it has opened my eyes and given me and my daughter the tools to move forward.”

Sessions include stories, games and guided discussions led by trained support workers, while parents and carers attend parallel group sessions focused on recovery and relationship-building.

Kathryn Warner, director of community services and development at PACT, said: “We know that there is a postcode lottery for families accessing recovery support following domestic abuse, so we are really pleased that we are now able to accept referrals for all families, with children aged 3 to 11, that live in Oxfordshire.”

In 2025, Thames Valley Police recorded 57,375 reports of domestic abuse crimes,  which equates to 157 crimes reported every day.

The BB4K programme is also available in Reading, West Berkshire and Wokingham.

Residents and staff from Oxford Beaumont Care Community in Boars Hill visited the Wallingford museum on Thursday, April 9.

They spent the afternoon exploring the museum’s collections, learning about the mechanics and designs, and revisiting the car manufacturer’s history.

Jokingly, some of the residents picked their favourite vehicles to take back home.

The care home said it values community engagement and regularly organises outings to interesting locations.

Beaumont Care Community said: “At the Oxford Beaumont we understand the importance of getting out in the community as often as possible.

“We are always discovering new and interesting places to visit; to open up new experiences, memories and reminiscing opportunities.”

Easter celebrations was the latest weekly theme for club members and they posted a wide variety of colourful shots on the club’s Facebook page.

Flowers, chocolate, rabbits, and nature scenes were a popular choice with photos taken across Oxfordshire and beyond.

It’s always tricky to select a winner for photo of the week but Julia Johnson-Fry’s colourful picture of pretty pansies in a garden stood out and confirmed that spring has definitely arrived.

Each week, camera club members are given a theme and then post their photos on the club’s Facebook page.

A selection of photos are featured in the Oxford Mail, The Oxford Times and online and one photo is chosen as photo of the week.

The next theme is signs of spring.
