Oxford delivery moped rider rammed in police chase
The rider was spotted by the traffic police speeding in the Iffley area of Oxford on Sunday, April 5.
He wouldn’t stop and so the officers made “tactical contact” with the runaway delivery boy and their unmarked Volvo V90 to bring the chase to an end.
However, it didn’t end there as the moped rider then attempted to flee on foot, but he was soon caught and arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop.

Searches also found suspected cannabis in the food delivery bag.
A police spokesman said: “You can run, but you can’t hide” and added: “Oxfordshire roads policing unit used tactical contact to resolve a pursuit with a ‘speedy delivery driver’ in Oxford earlier today.

“The rider was pursued by a police motorcycle in the Iffley area of Oxford before tactical contact was used to bring the motorcycle to a stop.
“The rider then thought he’d try to outrun us on foot, but epically failed as he was arrested for dangerous driving and failing to stop.
“Officers then located multiple bags of cannabis on the motorcycle in a food delivery bag.
“If you’re missing your delivery, please get in touch.”
A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, failing to provide a preliminary test at the roadside and possession with intent to supply class B drugs. He is still currently in police custody.
He didn’t have anything else in his delivery bag, just class B drugs.

M40 motorway – driver caught speeding at 112mph on motorway
The driver, whose details have not been disclosed, was caught by traffic officers at the side of the road near the Oxford part of the motorway on Easter Sunday.
A police spokesman said: “Driver stopped by officer on the M40 near to Oxford after driving past an unmarked police vehicle at high speed. Reported and off to court.”
Being caught speeding at 112 mph in the UK is considered a very serious offence, typically falling into the highest category (Band C) for speeding, as it is significantly over the 70 mph motorway limit.

Drivers caught are at high risk of an instant driving ban, typically ranging from seven to 56 days, though in extreme cases, it can be longer.
What’s more, six points on a driver’s licence are likely and a fine of up to 150 per cent of your weekly income (up to a maximum of £2,500 if on a motorway).
Meanwhile, further up on the M40 and in Bicester, the rural crime police stopped a white van towing a black Mitsubishi Shogun.
Police say the towed vehicle was linked to thefts of trailers in Dorset and the vehicle was seized on behalf of Dorset Police for its investigation.

It was, as usual, difficult to pick a winner for photo of the week but in the end we selected Lesley Tilson’s picture of a pub on the coast, glowing in the sunshine.
Each week, members are given a theme and then post their photos on the club’s Facebook page.
A selection of photos are then featured in the Oxford Mail, The Oxford Times and online, and one photo is chosen as the photo of the week.
For more information about camera club and how to join visit the club’s Facebook page. The next theme is Easter celebrations.
