Asda in Oxfordshire ranked worst by mystery shopper
The retail industry magazine The Grocer sent a mystery shopper to supermarkets across Oxfordshire to rate them on a range of things.
But Asda in London Road, Wheatley came at the bottom of the list with the mystery shopper labelling it as “not inviting”.
The retail magazine reports: “A full 15 points back in last place was Asda on London Road in Wheatley, about seven miles outside Oxford.

“Our shopper described the entrance as ‘not inviting’ thanks to the ‘bin right next to the door’ with “a number of cigarette butts sat on top”.
“And things did not get much better from there.
“The store was ‘very tired and messy, with poor lighting’ and ‘rubbish all over the floor’.
“Overall, there was ‘nothing to like’ about a ‘cluttered’ store where it was ‘very hard to find products’.
“In fact, the only positive our shopper could muster about the whole experience was getting ‘time with my daughter’.”
Meanwhile, the best supermarket in Oxfordshire was the Waitrose in Botley Road where the mystery shopper praised the praised the “great” layout and described the store as “clean, tidy and litter-free” with “a good range of products available”.
Sainsbury’s at Heyford Hill came in second place by the mystery shopper thanks in part to its “fairly modern” interior.
Asda has been approached for a response.
The driver, whose details have not been disclosed, was caught by traffic officers at the side of the road near the Oxford part of the motorway on Easter Sunday.
A police spokesman said: “Driver stopped by officer on the M40 near to Oxford after driving past an unmarked police vehicle at high speed. Reported and off to court.”
Being caught speeding at 112 mph in the UK is considered a very serious offence, typically falling into the highest category (Band C) for speeding, as it is significantly over the 70 mph motorway limit.

Drivers caught are at high risk of an instant driving ban, typically ranging from seven to 56 days, though in extreme cases, it can be longer.
What’s more, six points on a driver’s licence are likely and a fine of up to 150 per cent of your weekly income (up to a maximum of £2,500 if on a motorway).
Meanwhile, further up on the M40 and in Bicester, the rural crime police stopped a white van towing a black Mitsubishi Shogun.
Police say the towed vehicle was linked to thefts of trailers in Dorset and the vehicle was seized on behalf of Dorset Police for its investigation.
